SAMA’s assets reach SR1.78 trillion during February

Saudi Central Bank revealed that assets decreased to 1.776 trillion riyals at the end of last February, by about 40.4 billion riyals, or 2.2%, from their levels in January of 2024, which were 1.817 trillion riyals.

According to the Central Bank’s bulletin for February 2024, which was issued a short while ago, assets decreased by 146.6 billion riyals, or 7.6%, compared to what they were in February of the year 2023, which was 1.923 trillion riyals.

According to the bulletin, assets decreased during February 2024 compared to the same month of the year 2023 as a result of a decrease in deposits with banks abroad by 8.6%, and amounted to 345.2 billion riyals, compared to 377.9 billion in 2023, while investments in securities abroad decreased to 993.3 billion riyals, a rate of 5.4% over the year. 2023, which was 1,049.9 billion riyals, other assets decreased by about 29.4%, and foreign exchange and gold increased by 4.3%.
