GACA Awards 2nd Air Cargo Handling to SATS

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has granted a license for cargo handling service provider, at King Abdulaziz International Airport, in Jeddah, which is the Saudi Arabian SATS company.

The step is a part of the authority’s initiatives to support air freight and liberalize its services to give the logistics sector necessary flexibility, to increase its capacity in implementing the civil aviation strategy, that aims to enable air freight, in the Kingdom, and double its capacity to 4.5 million tons of goods handling.

GACA is set to move forward in achieving its strategic objectives, attracting global investors, and raising the quality of services provided, at airports to advance and develop the aviation sector, effect the best results, locally, regionally and internationally, and to be the leading sector, in the Middle East.

And to benefit from huge investment opportunities, making it an important tributary to the economic development, in line with and consistent with the Kingdom’s vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable development of the national economy, and for the Kingdom to be a global logistics hub linking the 3-continent, in the field of transport and air freight.
