SAMA assets reach 1.82 trillion riyals

The Central Bank of Saudi Arabia revealed that assets decreased to 1.820 trillion riyals at the end of last April, by about 39 billion riyals, or 2.1%, from their levels in March of the year 2024, which were 1.859 trillion riyals.

According to the Central Bank’s bulletin for April 2024, which was issued a short while ago, assets declined by 2.8 billion riyals, or 0.1%, from what they were in April 2023, which was 1.823 trillion riyals.

According to the bulletin, assets decreased during April 2024 compared to the same month of the year 2023, despite an increase in deposits with banks abroad by 12.9%, and amounted to 357.7 billion riyals, compared to 316.8 billion in 2023, while investments in securities abroad increased to 1,021.2 billion riyals, or 0.9% from the year 2023, which was 1,011.8 billion riyals, other assets decreased by about 26.9%, and foreign exchange and gold increased by 2.6%.

The assets of the Saudi Central Bank consist of foreign currency and gold, cash on hand, deposits with banks abroad, and investments in securities abroad, in addition to other assets.
