British maritime security company Ambrey said it recommends commercial ships in the Arabian Gulf and the western Indian Ocean to remain alert in preparation for increased drone activity in the region.
According to Reuters, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority confirmed that it is aware of similar reports, but there are no indications that commercial ships were the intended target of the Israeli attack on Iran.
Oil prices jumped by about $3 a barrel on Friday on reports of the attack, raising fears of possible disruption to oil supplies in the Middle East. Brent crude gave up some of those gains, trading up 1.85% to $88.74 a barrel by 0551 GMT after reaching a high level of $90.75.
