US crude oil and gasoline inventories rise, distillates fall

US Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday that US crude oil and gasoline inventories rose, while distillates fell in the week ending March 22.

According to Reuters, the administration said that crude inventories rose by 3.2 million barrels to 448.2 million last week.

She added that crude oil inventories at the delivery center in Cushing, Oklahoma, increased by 2.1 million barrels per day in the week ending March 22.

She added that crude consumption in refineries rose by 147,000 barrels per day in the week ending March 22.

The administration reported that gasoline stocks rose by 1.3 million barrels during the week to 232.1 million barrels, compared to analysts’ expectations.

Administration data showed that distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 1.2 million barrels during the week to 117.3 million barrels, compared to expectations that they would rise by 0.5 million barrels.
