Architects newspaper reported that the British firm Foster & Partners won the contract to design a two-kilometre-tall tower in Riyadh, which will be the tallest in the world.

The tower belongs to the Public Investment Fund, as reports indicate, and will be built in the north of the capital. Eight international companies have competed for its design

With these spaces, the Saudi tower will be twice the size of the Burj Khalifa, which currently holds the title of the tallest tower in the world, as its length reaches 828 meters. The Saudi tower will not only surpass the Emirati in height, but also in construction cost, as preliminary studies have shown that the initial construction cost will exceed $5 billion.

The tallest tower project in Riyadh is located west of the King Khalid International Airport area, so similar to this project, King Salman International Airport will be expanded, becoming the largest airport in the world coupled with the tallest tower in the world.

According to the new plans, the airport will be 58 square kilometers, including 6 parallel runways, with the existing passenger terminals of King Khalid International Airport.
