China’s non-manufacturing activity grew more slowly in April, official data showed on Sunday, a negative sign for policymakers who rely on service consumption to offset weakness in the factory sector amid slowing global demand.
According to “Reuters”, the National Bureau of Statistics reported that the official index of purchasing managers in the non-manufacturing sector recorded 56.4 compared to 58.2 in March, to remain above the fifty-point level that separates growth from contraction in activity on a monthly basis.
The official composite PMI, which includes manufacturing and services, came in at 54.4, compared with 57 in March.
