Non-Saudis transferred SR143.2 bln in 2022, a decrease of 6.9%‎

Data from the Saudi Central Bank revealed that non-Saudis transferred 143.2 billion riyals during the year 2022, a decrease of 10.6 billion riyals, or 6.9% from their transfers in the previous year 2021, which were 153.9 billion riyals.

Non-Saudis transfers amounted to 10.06 billion riyals, during the month of December, a decrease of 1044 million riyals, or 9.4% compared to their transfers in December of the previous year 2021, which were 11.1 billion riyals, while their transfers decreased by 4.4%, from 10.5 billion riyals during November of the year 2022, to record the lowest level in more than two and a half years, specifically since April 2020.

On the one hand, Saudi transfers decreased to 4.8 billion riyals during December 2022, by 16.1%, compared to December 2021 transfers, which were 5.7 billion riyals, while they decreased by 23.9%, compared to November 2022 transfers, which were SR 6.3 billion.

According to the Central Bank bulletin for the month of December 2022, local banks sold about 55.1 billion riyals during last December, which were converted into foreign exchange for other customers inside the Kingdom, a decrease of 8.3 billion riyals from what was sold in the previous month of November, which amounted to about 63.5 billion riyals. , while it declined by about 57.6 billion, or 51%, from foreign exchange sales in December 2021, which were 112.8 billion riyals.
