Ministry of Industry, Mineral Resources announced

As many as 360 Mining Complexes, 70 Mineral Reserves Sites, in Saudi Arabia

Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources revealed that the number of mining complexes, in the Kingdom, has reached as many as 360, led by the complexes located in the Makkah region, with 72 complexes, followed by the Riyadh region with 53, and then the Madinah region, which includes 52 complexes, while the number of mineral reserves sites in the Kingdom reached 70.

Most prominent raw materials extracted from the mining complexes are gold ore, copper, zinc, aluminum, magnesium, iron, silica, gypsum and salt.

In addition to other mineral such as cement, limestone, clay, and many different industrial minerals, including, bauxite and phosphate ore, among minerals most widely used in manufacturing industries.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources confirmed that the mining complexes provide many jobs for Saudis, most notably at (quarry, mechanical technicians, electrical technicians, geologists, mining engineers and other jobs).

It is noteworthy that a mining complex defined as the specific site with specific area and coordinates, reserved for mining activities with the participation of a committee of the concerned government agencies, in the area, to which the complex belongs.

The ministry seeks to govern the mining sector, enhance its transparency, and increase investor confidence in it, in addition to achieving the elements of sustainability for the sector, through the attention given to preserving the environment, health and occupational safety, and motivating local communities to participate in the growth paths of the mining sector, in accordance with the mining investment system.
