Hail-based 1st edition launched

Citrus Festival Unfurl New Window to Consolidate Agri-industry

Activities of the Citrus Festival, in its first edition, have started, in Hail, on the grounds of the Farmers’ Services Center, amid a heavy attendance of visitors.

Such a festival includes many activities, in which the products of citrus trees from all the farms of the Hail region are displayed, in addition to displaying and selling citrus products of all kinds, the general supervisor of the festival Khaled Al-Batea, indicated, adding that the the aim of launching this festival comes with the support of Governor of the region.

The demonstration is aiming to provide benefit to farmers, create opportunities for investors and those interested in this agricultural, economic and social gathering, in the Hail region.

Praising the government support witnessed by the sector in the region, Director General of the Environment, Water and Agriculture branch, in the region, Dr. Fahad Al-Hasani pointed out that such support was instrumental, as it has resulted in support for the movement and festivals in the region, including the first citrus festival, in Hail, noting that the citrus festival is one of the most important agricultural festivals that will contribute to the recovery of the tourism and economic field, enhancing and encouraging the utilization of the resources and capabilities of various farms.

Dr. Al-Hassani added that the Kingdom worked in order to achieve agricultural development and provide the appropriate climate for agricultural investments, by adopting many ambitious policies and programs aimed at streamlining the agricultural sector, by launching a strategy that stimulates the private sector to invest, so that the agricultural sector continues to play its role as a main source of the economy, an important source of national income diversification and a supporter of food security, in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the festival is attended by a number of government agencies with various pavilions that reflect the activities and services of these agencies and their role, in serving the beneficiaries, with the cooperation of the Council of Cooperative Societies, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, under the supervision of the Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society, in Hail.
