Road Code Project Steering Committee Holds 1st Meeting

The Steering Committee of the Road Code Project held its first meeting, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics for Roads Affairs Eng. Badr bin Abdullah Al Dalami.

The project aims to prepare and develop a road code for the Kingdom and a mechanism to activate it as a technical reference for the authorities responsible for roads, at all levels, with the aim of enabling the authorities to access the necessary information for planning, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining roads, with all their classifications in the Kingdom.

Al-Dulami stressed the importance of this experience, as it will reflect positively on the country and the citizen.

The current code is distinctive, and that the code will contribute to the unification of the application of these standards and specifications, on all the Kingdom’s road network, and to ensure their application in accordance with the highest quality standards.

It is noteworthy that the ministry is working in partnership with all relevant authorities to achieve the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics, which aims to rank the Kingdom at the sixth place globally, in road quality, and the task of preparing the Saudi Road Code of written systems and standards that govern administrative, financial, and technical methods. It ensures homogeneity, which is reflected in the quality of life and the continuation of work to achieve the vision the Kingdom Vision 2030.
