Saudi Arabia Took part, in G20 Finance Ministries, Central Banks Officials Meeting

The Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations Abdulaziz Alrasheed and the Deputy Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) for Research and International Affairs Dr. Fahad Aldossari, participated in the 4th G20 Finance and Central Bank meeting, under the Italian G20 Presidency, held at deputy-minister level.

The meeting that has taken place on 13-14 September, in Naples, Italy, brought together representatives from all G20 member states, guest countries and international and regional organizations.

The deputies of the ministries of finance and central banks of the G20 countries, discussed current global health initiatives and financing opportunities and challenges.

G20 Finance and Central Bank deputies have also touched upon issues related to international taxation, promoting investment in infrastructure, policies to support the green transition, sustainable finance and policies for the recovery building on the G20 agenda last year under the Saudi G20 Presidency.

This is the fourth official meeting under the Italian G20 Presidency.

The meeting comes in preparation for the 5th and last G20 finance ministers and central bank Governors meeting under the Italian G20 presidency, set to be held from on 7-8 October 2021.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a member of G20 Troika Committee, a three-member committee chaired by the current president of G20, the Kingdom (as the outgoing president), and Indonesia (the next coming president for 2022).

Troika Committee aims to ensure that the G20 presidencies work collectively, to achieve consistency and continuity of G20’s agenda. The Kingdom remains committed to support the G20’s efforts to achieve strong, balanced, sustainable and inclusive economic growth.​
