Japanese index opens 1.53% lower

Japan’s benchmark Nikkei index fell in early trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Friday.

The index fell 1.53% to 38,506.03 points on Friday, while the broader Topix index fell 1.32% to 2,718.41 points.
