The main indices on Wall Street opened higher on Monday after heavy losses in the previous session, as the decline in tensions in the Middle East strengthened appetite for risk, while traders looked forward to an eventful week with the release of a wide range of business results from technology companies and important data on inflation.

According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 130.5 points, or 0.34 percent, at the opening to 38,116.89 points.

The Standard & Poor’s Index rose 20.1 points, or 0.40%, to 4,987.33 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 114.1 points, or 0.75%, to 15,396.13 at the open.
