SFICO Dismisses CEO Awad Al-Desouki, Appoints Mahmoud Abu Aqeel as Interim CEO

The Saudi Fisheries Company (SFICO) announced on Monday that its board has approved the dismissal of CEO Mr. Awad Farouk Al-Desouki, effective from April 15, 2024. The board has also appointed Mr. Mahmoud Abdul-Hay Abu Aqeel as the interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found.

Mr. Mahmoud Abu Aqeel brings over 17 years of experience in the food and agriculture sectors, demonstrating extensive expertise and diverse experience in these industries. Since joining Saudi Fisheries in 2022, he has held positions as Chief Financial Officer and Financial Controller. Prior to this, he served as Chief Accountant at Arab Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) and Abdulrahman Saad Al Rashid Company (ARTAR), after his tenure at Arab Finance and Trade Company (ASTRA).
