Saudi American Business Council Organizes Symposium on Future of Automotive Industry in Kingdom

The Saudi-American Business Council, in cooperation with the National Industrial Development Center, organized a virtual symposium on last Friday on the future of the automobile manufacturing sector in Saudi Arabia, with the participation of more than 100 Saudi and American industry leaders and stakeholders.

The symposium was an opportunity for attendees to explore various aspects of the automotive industry in the Kingdom, including government initiatives, investment standards, and the experiences of companies operating within the Kingdom, in addition to exchanging visions and opportunities amid a rapidly evolving environment.

The list of speakers at the event included many prominent leaders, such as Ceer CEO James DeLuca, Vice President and Managing Director of the Middle East Region at Lucid Motors Faisal Sultan, Chief Advisor for the Automotive Sector at the National Industrial Development Center Aftab Ahmed, Automotive Director at the Ministry of Investment, Ahmed Al-Malki and Joseph Kirikian, Chief Investment Officer at TASARU Mobility Investments, JVIS CEO Jason Murar, and PAC Group CEO Dr. Shah Firoozi.

The interim president and CEO of the Saudi-American Business Council, Susan Lindemann, said during the symposium, “We, at the American-Saudi Business Council, are pleased to organize this event, as our mission for more than 30 years has been to facilitate cooperation and growth opportunities in sectors such as the automotive industry in the Kingdom, and our role is connecting industry leaders and stakeholders, presenting market opportunities and promoting valuable networking”.

“Discussions such as these are fundamental in driving innovation and progress within the industry, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote mutual prosperity and development”, she added.

The Principal Advisor for the Automotive Sector at the National Industrial Development Center Aftab Ahmed, indicated that the automotive sector in the Kingdom is thriving quickly towards the localization of vehicles, as the National Industrial Strategy has set an ambition for the sector within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, while the automotive sector team is working jointly to achieve these goals supported by all government agencies.
