MEPCO Contracts with J.M. Voith for Main Machine in New Containerboard Paper Plant

Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO) announced on Tuesday the signing of a contract with J.M. Voith SE & Co. KG to manufacture, supply, and supervise the installation of the main machine for its new containerboard paper plant project. The project, known as the fifth paper line, represents 62% of the company’s total revenues according to the latest audited financial statements, spanning a period of 36 months.

The contract encompasses the purchase of a complete line of paper production machines capable of producing 450,000 tons per year at a speed of 1600 meters per minute. J.M. Voith will be responsible for the manufacturing, supplying, and supervisory installation of the machine.

MEPCO noted that the financial impacts of this project are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027. This announcement follows the company’s previous update on October 20, 2022, posted on the Tadawul website, about the initiation of preparatory procedures for this new containerboard paper plant project.
