“Civil Aviation” authorizes Chinese airlines to operate regular flights between the Kingdom and China starting May 6

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the authorization to begin operating Chinese Airlines with regular flights (for passengers) between the Kingdom and China, heading from Beijing to Riyadh during the summer season of 2024, with 3 flights per week starting next May 6, and it will become 7 flights per week starting July 2. For this year.

This step comes within the framework of the General Civil Aviation Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance air connectivity and expand the air transport network. In order to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which is to make the Kingdom a global logistics platform and open new horizons for travel, which are compatible with the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy.

On the occasion of the announcement of the operation of a number of new air routes with the Republic of China; Ali bin Mohammed Rajab, Executive Vice President of Air Transport and International Cooperation at the General Authority of Civil Aviation, indicated that this cooperation came as a result of the visit of the leaders of the air transport sector system, headed by His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, to the People’s Republic of China recently. Which aimed to increase the number of flights and stations, drive the growth of air traffic, develop and organize cooperation frameworks in the field of air transport and freight between the two countries, in addition to facilitating air service operations, air safety and aviation security, and enhancing joint cooperation to increase global interconnection. In line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and compatible with the National Aviation Strategy, which aims to invest in the development opportunities provided by the National Aviation Strategy by focusing on building international partnerships, and signing new bilateral agreements that support the ambitious goals of the strategy; Which aims to operate flights to 250 global destinations by 2030.

It is noteworthy that the General Authority of Civil Aviation has announced the authorization to operate China Southern Airlines with regular flights (passengers – air cargo) between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom to and from the cities of “Beijing”, “Guangzhou”, “Shenzhen” and Riyadh, during the summer season of 2024 with 4 flights (passenger/commercial) and 3 air cargo flights, starting April 16, 2024. It also authorized the start of operating China Eastern Airlines with regular flights (for passengers) between the Kingdom and the People’s Republic of China, heading from Shanghai to Riyadh during the summer season of 2024. 3 flights per week starting April 27.
