Nestlé sees “hesitation” among shoppers in the Middle East on Gaza tensions

The CEO of Nestlé said in a phone call with journalists on Thursday that the company sees “hesitation among consumers and a preference for local brands” in the Middle East after the start of the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.

According to Reuters, the British company Unilever announced earlier this month that its sales growth in the fourth quarter in Southeast Asia was affected by shoppers in Indonesia boycotting the brands of multinational companies “in response to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.”
