FAO: Food price index fell by about 10% at the end of 2023‎

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported that its food price index fell about 10% at the end of 2023 compared to a year ago, while also declining in December from the previous month.

The organization added that the average index, which tracks the prices of the most traded primary food commodities in the world, reached 118.5 points last December, a decrease of 1.5% from November and a decrease of 10.1% from December 2022.
