CST Governor Attends the Opening of the World ‎Radiocommunication Conference

Governor of Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Altamimi attended the opening session of the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23), held between November 20 and December 15 in Dubai.

ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, senior telecommunications sector officials from around the world and over 4,000 representatives of government entities, telecommunications regulatory authorities, specialized organizations and the private sector are attending the event.

Altamimi headed the Saudi delegation, composed of representatives of 20 government organizations and private entities, to the conference. Altamimi held several bilateral meetings with officials from international regulatory entities, on the sidelines of the conference, and met with several CEOs and heads of delegations from private sector companies in the communications, space and technology field.

Saudi Arabia has held international and regional discussions on topics related to radiocommunication since it chaired the GCC group at the preparatory meeting for WRC23, and held different positions in working and advisory groups. It plays an active role in seeking collaboration and creating consensus among state members to achieve mutual interests.

Saudi Arabia endeavors to cope with the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), the next generation of network (6G), Device-to-Device (D2D) communication, Mega-Constellations, Space sustainability and Space preservation for future generations by setting rules that address space debris.
