G20 finance ministers discuss ways to contribute to digital ‎infrastructure .. with Al-Jadaan attendant ‎

Today, Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Minister of Finance, Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, attended in the Indian city of Bangalore the symposium organized under the title “Public Digital Infrastructure for Innovation, Resilience, Inclusive Growth, and Effective Governance,” on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the Group of Twenty under the Indian presidency of the G20.

The symposium, which was attended by a number of finance ministers and central bank governors from the G20 countries, a number of representatives of invited countries, and heads of international and regional organizations, aimed to discuss and discuss ways of contributing to public digital infrastructure in promoting innovation, inclusive growth, building resilience, and enhancing efficiency and governance.

The discussion session was attended by Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance of India, Sri Mulyani Indrawti, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Kristalina Georgieva, Director General of the International Monetary Fund, Agustín Carstens, Director General of the Bank for International Settlements, Roberto Campos Neto, Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil.

The speakers shed light on a number of important topics, including: the role of public digital infrastructure in contributing to the promotion of innovation, resilience, inclusive growth, and effective governance, and the impact of public digital infrastructure around the world, in addition to maximizing its utilization in unleashing the potential for achieving full growth.

Participants also shared their experiences in supporting the expansion of public digital infrastructure at the level of the global economy, and reviewed the challenges and opportunities surrounding it, and stressed the need to seek to expand its scope to benefit from it better, especially for those who need it most.
