The European Union countries failed to agree on new sanctions against Russia that are supposed to be applied on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the war, as the proposed package includes trade restrictions worth more than 10 billion euros, including a ban on EU imports of Russian rubber.

It will also prevent EU exports to Russia of technical equipment and spare parts, and further talks are scheduled to take place between representatives of EU member states in Brussels, according to CNBC.

The House of Representatives and the Federation Council voted in favor of suspending Moscow’s participation in the New START treaty, to ratify a decision announced by President Vladimir Putin.
