Wall Street continues losses under pressure of recession fears

Wall Street’s major stock indices extended losses on Friday as fears of a looming recession, sparked by the Federal Reserve’s ongoing battle with inflation, rattled sentiment.

According to “Reuters”, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 35.76 points, or 0.11 percent, at the opening, to 33,166.46 points.

The S&P 500 index started trading down 4.84 points, or 0.12 percent, at 3,890.91 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 42.89 points, or 0.40 percent, to 10,767.64 points.
