Research, development, innovation at 7th Saudi Scientific ‎Forum in Australia 2022‎

The Saudi Students Club in Sydney, under the supervision of the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Australia, held the Seventh Saudi Scientific Forum in Australia 2022 under the slogan (With Science We Build Our Future) at the University of Sydney on Saturday 15 October 2022.

Engineer Haitham Radwa, head of the forum and a PHD researcher in solar energy engineering, stressed that the aim of the forum this year is to transform the research work of male and female students on scholarships into services or products that benefit the community to raise the non-oil domestic product and create new job opportunities through scientific research.

This year’s forum will focus on four themes: medicine and health sciences, engineering and sciences, human and administrative sciences, and scientific posters. The 85 applicants and advanced students compete for (12) prizes and their works were judged by researchers at Australian universities.

During the two weeks preceding the forum, (13) virtual lectures were implemented, hosted by a number of experts in scientific and practical fields, to enrich scholarship students in the field of research, development and innovation.

Pharmacist Abrar bint Fawzi Arbaeen, head of the scientific committee of the forum and a doctoral researcher in the field of pediatric toxicology, explained that the arbitration criteria were divided into three main sections: scientific criteria, criteria for the extent to which the research is related to the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, and criteria for the extent to which the research can be converted into a commercial product or service. . The forum was opened by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Australia, Mr. Musaed Al-Saleem, in the presence of the Consul General in Sydney, Mr. Meshary bin Nahit, the Deputy Ambassador in Australia, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sharif, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Cultural Attaché Dr. Abdulbari Al-Tamani, and the Commercial Attaché Mr. Atef Al-Athri and members of the Saudi diplomatic mission in Australia.

Eng. Trad bin Abboud, president of the Saudi Students Club in Sydney and a doctoral researcher in architecture and planning, stated that the scientific forum is one of the club’s main activities.
