SAMA’s Assets above SR2 trln for first time in more than 6 years‎

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) overall assets soared by 1%, or by SR 19.5 billion to SR 2.005 trillion in July, the highest since January 2017, compared to June 2022 when it recorded SR 1.986 trillion.

The assets soared by about SR 133.1 billion, or 7.1%, compared to their levels in July 2021, at SR 1.872 trillion.

They increase during July 2022 compared to the same month of 2021, has been supported by an increase in deposits with banks abroad by 25.4%, amounted to SR 331.2 billion, compared to SR 264.1 billion in 2021, while investments in securities abroad declined to SR 1124.2 billion, at a rate of 2% compared to 2021 at SR 1147.3 billion, while other assets rose by 61%, also foreign exchange and gold dipped by 1.1%.

SAMA’s assets consist of foreign exchange, gold and cash in the fund, deposits with banks abroad, and investments in securities abroad, in addition to other miscellaneous assets.
