Western sector, ranked 1st with 229 factories.

MODON Incubate 593 Chemical Factories, across the Kingdom

Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones MODON revealed that it has incubated as many as 593 factories producing chemicals and related products, the majority of which are located in the western sector, with a total of 229 factories.

The western sector, which includes 15 industrial cities, comes in the first place, with a total of 229 factories for chemical products, followed by the eastern sector, which includes 9 industrial cities with a total of 182 factories, and then the middle sector, which consists of 12 cities and ranked third with a total of 182 factories, too, CEO of MODON Eng. Khalid Al-Salem, confirmed.

This came on the sidelines of MODON’s participation as a strategic industrial sponsor and with an integrated pavilion in the “Responsible Care Conference” organized by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Riyadh, to discuss the contribution of safety, environment, security and operation systems.

and the role of advanced technologies in supporting business continuity, in the industrial sector, during the pandemic crisis, was a main theme.

MODON, as part of its strategy to empower industry and contribute to increasing local content, seeks to create a model environment and support it with advanced technologies, services and innovative industrial products that achieve the satisfaction of its partners in the private sector, in order to attract and localize value-added investments to the benefit of the national economy, in line with its pivotal role within the Saudi Vision 2030, and the initiatives assigned to it in the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, Eng. Al-Salem said.

He added that during the conference, it reviewed its initiatives to support the industrial sector during the pandemic, as well as the contribution of its modern systems to manage security and safety and preserve the environment and the surrounding community, as well as preventive and awareness efforts within its industrial cities, to prevent the aggravation of the crisis, and to ensure the continuity of doing business within a smart and safe investment environment, in accordance with the best quality standards, locally and globally recognized.

He explained that MODON succeeded in overcoming the “pandemic” crisis with great merit as a result of having strategic options and proactive plans to deal with crises and emergency, which contributed to reducing the repercussions of the pandemic not only on the industrial sector but on the national economy in general, by meeting market requirements of local products and various commodities, especially in the food and medical sectors.

Since its inception in 2001, MODON has been interested in developing integrated industrial lands. Today, it oversees 36 existing and under development industrial cities, in various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to its supervision over private industrial parks and cities.

The existing industrial cities include more than 4,000 factories.
