Tahlia Enriches Challenges, Opportunities Forum’s Discussions

The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (Tahlia) actively participated in the conference held under the motto: Challenges and Opportunities, in Desalination Projects, in the Kingdom, organized by the Singapore Utilities Authority, in the presence of a group of experts and those interested in the field of water desalination.

In addition to a number of leading Singaporean companies, in the desalination industry, to inform them of the efforts to establish and operate desalination systems of productivity with qualified national competencies, in one hand.

And the latest technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which contributed to its leadership in the desalination industry worldwide, and achieved record numbers in the production of desalinated water, seen as unprecedented in the field of reducing energy consumption, for its locally manufactured systems, on the other.

During the forum’s activities, the Director of Partnerships Department, at Tahlia Eng. Muhammad Al-Sheikh gave a detailed presentation of the current (desalination) projects, revealing the challenges they faced as a result of the influential repercussions of the pandemic and how to overcome them.

Meanwhile the Director of the Planning and Capital Analysis Department Eng. Walid Al-Barrak reviewed the investment opportunities that would available in future projects.

He stressed the keenness and interest of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation to expand the use of clean energy and environmentally friendly renewable energy technologies, addressing the uses of solar energy in production systems.

As that would contribute to enhancing the Kingdom’s water security and strengthening the infrastructure of the water sector, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
