Nama Chemicals Shutdown Hassad Plant for Maintenance

Nama Chemicals Company announced on Sunday the shutdown of Hassad plant (affiliate with the Jubail Chemical Industries Company) starting from 1/10/2021 which is expected to take 20 days.

“The action aims to execute the planned maintenance activities and replacing the chemical catalyst during the shutdown period. The plant is expected to return to production on 21/10/2021.” the statement read.

This shutdown is planned as part of this year budget to carry out the periodic maintenance activities.

“As the plants and products are integrated, the necessary precaution actions were taken to mitigate the impact of the shutdown on the company’s customers as well as other internal products.” the company explained.

The expected financial impact is SR 19.6 million, which will appear in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The company will announce later any further developments in this regard.
