SAMA Wins GIFA,s Best Central Bank Award

The Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) has accorded the Saudi Central Bank the best central bank award for the Year 2021, due to its distinct contributions, in the domain of Islamic finance.

The award has been handed over to SAMA, during a virtual ceremony, marking the 11^th edition of the annual award handing over occasion, which has been held on Tuesday.

Commenting on the event, the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank Dr. Fahd A. Al-Mubarak expressed, as he was addressing the ceremony, his delight for winning the award, which reflect the efforts exerted by the GIFA, in the framework of upgrading the Islamic finance, in the Kingdom, which is compatible with the Financial Sector Development Program, one of the main prerequisite of the Kingdom 2030 Vision.

The program aims to safeguard establishing of fully-fledged and sophisticated capital markets, in the Kingdom, as well as empowered, motivating and stimulant to a much more diversified national economy, based on the private sector led growth.

He reaffirmed the Kingdom resolve to continue working towards upgrading the Islamic financial sector, pointing out that such an award is fruit of the pioneer role played by the Kingdom, in this domain, internationally speaking.
