The Fed’s preferred inflation index stabilized at 2.8% during March on an annual basis, which is the same as February levels, but a higher level than analysts’ expectations of 2.7%.
According to data issued by the Bureau of Economic Analysis today, Friday, the index stabilized on a monthly basis at levels of 0.3%.
The personal consumption expenditures price (PCE) index, which takes into account energy and food, also accelerated by about 2.7% last month compared to 2.5% in February.
While the personal income index rose by about 0.5% last month, which is a higher level than recorded in February at 0.3%.
