Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Tuesday, led by the rise of a group of growth stocks and companies linked to the chip industry, as investors considered a range of quarterly business results ahead of the release of results from major technology companies later in the week.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 116.1 points, or 0.30%, to 38,356.07 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened up 18.3 points, or 0.36%, to 5,028.85 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index increased 74.2 points, or 0.48%, to 15,525.552 points.
