Saudi banks’ liabilities to the private sector increased by 0.2% in June 2025 compared to May 2025, reaching SAR 3.047 trillion in June compared to SAR 3.049 trillion in May.
The statistical bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank stated that banks’ liabilities to the private sector in the Kingdom are divided into two sectors (bank credit and investments in private securities). It added that banks’ liabilities in the banking credit sector amounted to SAR 2.959 trillion in June 2025 compared to SAR 2.943 trillion in May 2025.
The bulletin indicated that banks’ liabilities in the “bank credit” sector in the Kingdom are divided into “loans and overdrafts,” reaching SAR 2.937 trillion in June 2025 compared to SAR 2.922 trillion in May 2025, while liabilities to ” Discounted bills of exchange” amounted to SAR 22.145 billion in June 2025, compared to SAR 21.761 billion in May 2025.
The bulletin added that banks’ liabilities in the Kingdom in the private securities investment sector amounted to SAR 98.030 billion in June 2025, compared to SAR 105.423 billion in May 2025.
The bulletin confirmed that banks’ liabilities in the Kingdom from the private sector increased by 13.6% year-on-year, reaching SAR 3.057 trillion in June 2025, compared to SAR 2.689 trillion in June 2024.
The bulletin indicated that banks’ liabilities in the banking credit sector amounted to SAR 2.959 trillion in June 2025, compared to SAR 2.592 trillion in June 2024.
