China’s major internet companies generate $133.3 billion in revenue in H1, 2025

Major Chinese internet companies operating in the services sector recorded combined revenue of 961.3 billion yuan (about $133.3 billion) during the first six months of this year, a 3.1% year-on-year increase, representing an acceleration of 2.2% growth compared to the January-May period.

According to Xinhua, official data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China confirmed that the combined profits of these companies reached 74.32 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.3% compared to the same period last year.

The data indicated that the sector continued to invest steadily in research and development, with expenditures allocated to this area reaching 48.56 billion yuan during the first half of this year, a 2.6% annual increase.
