UK unemployment rate accelerates to highest level since June 2021
UK unemployment accelerated to its highest level since June 2021 during the three months ending in May.
According to data released today by the Office for National Statistics, the unemployment rate rose to 4.7% from 4.6% in the previous three months.
Annual wage growth, excluding bonuses, was 5% in the three months ending in May, compared to expectations of 4.9% growth and a rise of 5.2% in April.
