UK inflation rises to 3.6% in June, exceeding expectations
UK’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.6% in June, exceeding analysts’ expectations, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics on Wednesday.
Economists had forecast inflation reaching 3.4% over the 12 months to June, the same rate as in May, according to Reuters.
Core inflation—which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco—rose to 3.7% year-on-year, up from 3.5% in May.
