Japan’s Nikkei Index Closes 0.55% Higher
Japan’s Nikkei index closed higher today, led by chip stocks. It closed up 0.55% at 39,678.02, after falling as much as 0.2% earlier in the session.
Shares of chip-making equipment maker Tokyo Electron rose 3.49%, becoming the largest contributor to the Nikkei’s gains.
The broader Topix index also rose 0.09% to 2,825.31.
