Ford Recalls 694,000 Vehicles Due to Fire Risk

Ford has recalled 694,271 vehicles in the United States due to a fuel system defect that could increase the risk of a fire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The agency said the recall includes certain Bronco Sport models manufactured between 2021 and 2024, as well as Escape vehicles produced between 2020 and 2022, citing the risk of fuel leaking into the engine compartment due to a cracked fuel injector.

Ford’s sales rose 14.2% year-over-year during the second quarter of this year, nearly ten times the industry’s expected increase of 1.4%.
