Electrical Industries Company announced on Wednesday that the Administrative Court of Appeal has upheld the ruling of the Administrative Court to cancel the decisions issued by the Competition Law Violations Resolution Committee regarding two of its subsidiaries.
The company referred to its earlier announcement on Tadawul dated January 19, 2025, which detailed the Administrative Court’s decision on January 1, 2025, to annul Paragraphs Five and Six of the Committee’s decision (No. 242) issued on July 4, 2024. These paragraphs involved fines related to alleged violations of the Competition Law.
The General Authority of Competition had filed an objection to the Administrative Court’s ruling. However, the Administrative Court of Appeal has now confirmed the cancellation of the decisions issued by the Competition Law Violations Resolution Committee.
It is noteworthy that the Committee’s decision No. 242, issued on July 4, 2024, had imposed a fine of SAR 26.1 million on the two subsidiaries for potential violations of Paragraph (8) of Article 5 of the Competition Law and Paragraph (D) of Article 8 of the Executive Regulations.
