A Saudi delegation, led by Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and including more than 120 businessmen and investors, arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, today to discuss investment partnerships between the two countries. They also signed several agreements, projects, and memoranda of understanding. This step aims to strengthen economic relations, explore new horizons for bilateral cooperation, and begin operations with investments estimated at approximately $4 billion.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Investment announced its intention to organize a Saudi-Syrian investment forum, bringing together the public and private sectors. The forum aims to explore cooperation opportunities and sign agreements that promote sustainable development and serve the interests of both peoples.
The Saudi Embassy in Damascus also announced the availability of travel permits for Saudi and Syrian businessmen and investors, allowing them to exchange visits and explore investment opportunities in the two brotherly countries.
This comes as a continuation of Saudi efforts to support Syria, contributing to its stability during its current phase of economic recovery and promoting the interests of its people, based on the directives of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met a few days ago in Damascus with a delegation of Saudi businessmen to discuss prospects for economic cooperation.
