US 50% Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum Take Effect
The United States today increased its tariffs on imported steel and aluminum products from 25 to 50%, implementing an order announced by President Donald Trump.
The decree doubling the tariffs was published yesterday and took effect at 00:01 local time at 04:01.
The steel and aluminum sectors were the first to be targeted by the tariffs imposed by the US President, with additional tariffs of 25% effective March 12.
