US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is unlikely to cut interest rates today. He added that Powell is doing a poor job.
Markets are awaiting the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, with the market almost certain to hold rates for the fourth consecutive time between 4.25% and 4.5%.
It is worth noting that the US Federal Reserve decided to leave interest rates unchanged last May, in line with market expectations. The Federal Open Market Committee, which sets interest rates, kept its key target rate at a range of 4.25% to 4.5%, the level it has held since last December.
