Trump: Decision on Fed Chairman Will Be Made Soon

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that a decision on the next Federal Reserve chairman will be made soon.

He added that any good Fed chairman would cut interest rates, according to Reuters.

US President Donald Trump called on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates by a full percentage point.

“The Fed’s extreme delay is a disaster! Europe has had 10 rate cuts, and we have had none. Despite that, our country is doing very well,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

He added, “If the Fed cuts at the right time, we will be able to cut interest rates significantly, both on long-term and short-term debt maturing soon. Biden has focused primarily on short-term borrowing.”
