Saudi Ministry of Tourism: 116 million tourists spent 284 billion riyals in 2024

The Ministry of Tourism revealed that the total number of domestic and international tourists in 2024 reached approximately (116) million, a growth rate of (6%) compared to 2023. Meanwhile, total tourism spending in the Kingdom for domestic and international tourists reached approximately (284) billion riyals, a growth rate of (11%) compared to 2023.

This came in the annual statistical report on the tourism sector for 2024, which highlighted the most prominent indicators of the tourism sector’s activity in the Kingdom and revealed the extent of growth and development witnessed by the sector last year, building on the remarkable progress achieved in 2023. Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb explained that the exceptional achievements and significant growth documented in the annual statistical report were achieved thanks to the directives of the wise leadership and its unlimited support for the tourism sector, which has become a fundamental pillar contributing to achieving the goals of Vision 2030. He explained that the report reviews the record and accelerated growth achieved by the efforts of the Ministry and all stakeholders in the Saudi tourism system.

The Ministry of Tourism indicated that the Kingdom achieved the highest historical number of incoming tourists from abroad, amounting to approximately (30) million tourists in the year (2024 AD), a growth rate of (8%) compared to the year (2023 AD). Meanwhile, the total spending of incoming tourists from abroad reached (168.5) billion riyals, a growth rate of (19%) compared to the year (2023 AD).

It explained that the number of local tourists in the year (2024 AD) reached (86.2) million local tourists, a growth rate of (5%) compared to the year (2023 AD), while the total spending of local tourists reached (115.3) billion riyals.
