Riyadh Air Announces Order for 50 Airbus A350-1000s

Riyadh Air, the new national carrier of the Kingdom and a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), announced today the signing of an order for 50 Airbus A350-1000s during the Paris Air Show.

The agreement includes 25 aircraft on firm order, with options for an additional 25. The agreement was signed at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport by Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, and Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales at Airbus, in the presence of Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund and Chairman of Riyadh Air, Tony Douglas, Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Air, and Christian Scherer, President and CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft. Commenting on the order, Yasir Al-Rumayyan said, “Our new national carrier is about to launch in the near future and represents a key component of the Kingdom’s infrastructure, connecting our capital, Riyadh, to more than 100 destinations around the world by 2030.” He added that the addition of the Airbus A350-1000 to the fleet, with its outstanding performance on long-haul routes, reflects Riyadh Aviation’s strategic role in consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a global aviation hub.
