Japan’s Nikkei index gave up early gains to end lower on Friday, as geopolitical risks surrounding the Middle East conflict weighed on sentiment.
The Nikkei fell 0.22% to 38,403.23, after rising 0.4% earlier in the session. The index ended the week with a 1.5% gain.
The broader Topix index fell 0.75% to 2,771.26, but posted a weekly gain of 0.54%, according to Reuters.
