Mawani Launches New IM2 Shipping Service at Jeddah Islamic Port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of the new IM2 shipping service by Emirates Shipping Line and Wan Hai Lines at Jeddah Islamic Port, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports, facilitate global trade and improve operational efficiency.

The new shipping service will connect Jeddah Islamic Port with three regional and international ports: Mundra (India), Alexandria (Egypt), and Mersin (Türkiye), with a handling capacity of up to 2,800 TEUs.

This endeavor is part of Mawani’s efforts to improve the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators, support the flow of national exports, and align with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aim to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub linking three continents.

Jeddah Islamic Port boasts 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics service area for storage and re-export, multiple specialized terminals, two general cargo terminals, two ship repair docks, and various berths for marine services. Its total handling capacity reaches 130 million tons.
