Gold prices rose on Monday as US President Donald Trump threatened to double tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, while a weaker dollar supported the US-denominated precious metal.
Spot gold rose 0.6% to $3,309.89 per ounce by 00:56 GMT. US gold futures rose 0.6% to $3,333.30.
The dollar index fell 0.1%, making gold cheaper for holders of other currencies, according to Reuters.
