The US dollar’s performance was volatile against most major currencies on Wednesday, raising investor concerns ahead of the Federal Reserve’s much-anticipated interest rate decision later in the day.
The dollar swung between slight gains and losses against the yen, touching a one-week high in early Asian trading.
The dollar was last down 0.2% at 144.90 yen.
The dollar index, which tracks the greenback’s performance against six other major currencies, fell 0.1% after rising 0.6% in the previous session.
The Swiss franc was steady at 0.816 against the dollar, and the euro rose 0.2% to $1.150.
The British pound rose 0.26% to $1.346.
