A report issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers indicated that China achieved significant growth in auto production and sales during the first five months of this year, reflecting the boom in consumption in the world’s second-largest economy.
The association explained in a statement that total auto production in China reached 12.83 million units during the first five months of this year, a 12.7% increase over last year. Auto sales also rose 10.9%, reaching 12.75 million units.
The association’s report indicated that auto exports increased by 7.9% year-on-year, reaching 2.49 million units during the first five months.
The report added that new energy vehicle production increased by 45.2% year-on-year, reaching approximately 5.7 million units, while sales increased by 44%, reaching 5.61 million units during the same period.
